Library

Library is the main window for sessions and speakers. The window title remains Parrot Scribe, and the workspace heading is Library.

When you open Library, Parrot Scribe restores the session or folder you last selected. If nothing was selected, Library opens the newest session. An empty Library shows No Sessions Yet.

Find a session

Use the Sessions list to search, filter, and open work.

• Search sessions by title or content.
• Filter by speaker, date range, or retained audio.
• Sort by date, duration, or speaker count.
• Put sessions in folders and add comments for later retrieval.
• Import audio with File > Import Audio Files... (⌘I) or by dropping files onto Library.

Read a session

Select a session. The detail column shows the transcript, Speaker Timeline, and playback controls when audio is retained.

• Play retained audio while you read.
• Use the timeline ruler and speaker clip lanes to move the playhead. The playhead crosses the ruler and every lane. Audio before the playhead is dimmer.
• Use playback speeds 0.5x, 0.75x, 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, and 2x.
• Press Space to play or pause. Press ← or → to skip 5 seconds. Hold Shift with either arrow to skip 30 seconds.

To edit retained audio, mark a timeline range and select Trim to Selection, or move the playhead and select Split at Playhead. Both actions are available from the toolbar and the Edit menu.

To export the selected session, use File > Export or the Export control in the inspector.

Speakers

The Speakers section lists enrolled voices. Select a speaker to rename, merge, forget, or review session history.

For first-time naming of generic labels, open Identify Speakers from the menu bar or Library. See Speaker Recognition.

When a segment captured from system audio is assigned to the wrong person, select the segment and choose Identify as.... Choose an existing speaker, or New Speaker... if the person is not in the list. Segments captured from the microphone cannot be reassigned this way.
