First Transcription

Create your first transcription

Quick Start

Create a session from the Parrot Scribe menu, then open it in Library.

Start Transcribing

  1. Click the Parrot Scribe icon in your menu bar.
  2. In the menu bar dropdown, click Start Listening.
  3. Start speaking or play audio.
  4. Click Stop Listening when you're done.

Parrot Scribe saves the transcription automatically.

What Gets Captured

Parrot Scribe can capture two audio sources:

Microphone - Your voice and room audio. Use for meetings and conversations.

System Audio - What plays through your Mac. Use for online meetings, videos, and podcasts.

By default, both sources are enabled. You can toggle them in Settings.

Find Your Transcription

Open the menu bar dropdown and click Show Library... to review saved sessions.

In Library, select a session to read the transcript and review speakers in the same window. See Library.

If the transcript has generic labels such as "Speaker 1", open Identify Speakers from Library or the menu bar, enter the names, and select Save Names. See Speaker Recognition for details.
