Activation

Activate your license key

Try Before You Buy

Parrot Scribe offers a free trial. When you first launch the app without a license, you can start a trial to explore all features.

  • Trial lasts 7 days
  • Limited to one device
  • One trial per device (cannot be restarted)

After the trial, purchase a license to continue using Parrot Scribe.

Find Your License Key

After purchasing Parrot Scribe, you'll receive a license key via email. The key looks like:

PS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Can't find your email? Use our License Recovery page.

Activate Your License

Option 1: Click the Activation Link

Your purchase confirmation email includes an activation link. Simply:

  1. Click the Activate Parrot Scribe button in the email
  2. Parrot Scribe will open and activate automatically

Option 2: Manual Activation

  1. Open Parrot Scribe
  2. Click the menu bar icon and select Enter License Key
  3. Paste your license key
  4. Click Activate

You'll see a confirmation message when activation is successful.

Activation Troubleshooting

"License key invalid"

  • Double-check you've copied the entire key including the PS- prefix
  • Ensure there are no extra spaces before or after the key
  • Try copying directly from the email, not a screenshot

"Device limit reached"

Your license has a device limit (e.g., 2 devices). To activate on a new device:

  1. Open Settings -> License -> Manage on a currently activated device
  2. Deactivate a device you no longer use
  3. Activate again on the new device after the deactivation completes

If your license is only active on one Mac, that means deactivating the old Mac before you transfer.

"Network error"

Parrot Scribe needs internet access to validate your license:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Ensure Parrot Scribe isn't blocked by a firewall
  3. Try again in a few minutes

Offline Grace Period

After initial activation, Parrot Scribe validates your license every 30 days when online. If you're offline when revalidation is due, a 7-day grace period allows continued use while you reconnect.
