Activation

Activate a Parrot Scribe Pro license key

Free and Pro Licenses

Parrot Scribe is free for personal use. No license key and no account are required; just download and start transcribing.

Pro is available as an annual or lifetime license. Both plans support up to five devices and activate with a license key. You can also start a 30-day Pro trial in the app after installing.

Previously issued licenses remain valid and use the same activation flow.

Find Your License Key

If you purchased Pro or received a license from an organization, your confirmation email contains a license key that looks like:

PS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Activate Your License

Option 1: Click the Activation Link

Your license confirmation email includes an activation link. Simply:

  1. Click the Activate Parrot Scribe button in the email
  2. Parrot Scribe will open and activate automatically

Option 2: Manual Activation

  1. Open Parrot Scribe
  2. Go to Settings -> License
  3. Click the activation link at the bottom of the pane. This window accepts all license keys
  4. Paste your license key
  5. Click Activate

You'll see a confirmation message when activation is successful.

Activation Troubleshooting

"License key invalid"

  • Double-check you've copied the entire key including the PS- prefix
  • Ensure there are no extra spaces before or after the key
  • Try copying directly from the email, not a screenshot

"Device limit reached"

Pro licenses support up to five active devices. To activate your license on a new device:

  1. Open Settings -> License -> Manage on a currently activated device
  2. Deactivate a device you no longer use
  3. Activate again on the new device after the deactivation completes

"Network error"

Parrot Scribe needs internet access to validate your license:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Ensure Parrot Scribe isn't blocked by a firewall
  3. Try again in a few minutes

Offline Grace Period

After initial activation, Parrot Scribe validates your license every 30 days when online. If you're offline when revalidation is due, a 7-day grace period allows continued use while you reconnect.
