Activate your license key
Try Before You Buy
ParrotScribe offers a free trial. When you first launch the app without a license, you can start a trial to explore all features.
- Trial lasts 3 days during early access (14 days after 1.0 release)
- Limited to one device
- One trial per device (cannot be restarted)
After the trial, purchase a license to continue using ParrotScribe.
Find Your License Key
After purchasing ParrotScribe, you'll receive a license key via email. The key looks like:
PS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Activate Your License
Option 1: Click the Activation Link
Your purchase confirmation email includes an activation link. Simply:
- Click the Activate ParrotScribe button in the email
- ParrotScribe will open and activate automatically
Option 2: Manual Activation
- Open ParrotScribe
- Click the menu bar icon and select Enter License Key
- Paste your license key
- Click Activate
You'll see a confirmation message when activation is successful.
Activation Troubleshooting
"License key invalid"
- Double-check you've copied the entire key including the
PS-prefix - Ensure there are no extra spaces before or after the key
- Try copying directly from the email, not a screenshot
"Device limit reached"
Your license has a device limit (e.g., 2 devices). To activate on a new device:
- Deactivate ParrotScribe on a device you no longer use
- Or contact support to discuss options
"Network error"
ParrotScribe needs internet access to validate your license:
- Check your internet connection
- Ensure ParrotScribe isn't blocked by a firewall
- Try again in a few minutes
Offline Grace Period
After initial activation, ParrotScribe validates your license every 30 days when online. If you're offline when revalidation is due, a 7-day grace period allows continued use while you reconnect.
